For this DIY, you will need:

  • 2 sheets of blue felt;
  • fake flowers;
  • lace;
  • fiber fill;
  • and a hot glue gun.

Where To Buy Materials For This DIY

Now, let’s realize our DIY, shall we?

Step 1: Cut A Mailbox Shape In Your Felt

Start by choosing the right color palette for your porch decor. Spring colors, such as pastel or bright blue, pink, yellow, or green, are emblematic for an Easter DIY.

I selected two blue felt sheets. One of my sheets was darker than the other. So, feel free to pick two sheets of the same color or of a different color.

Each sheet is 30 cm x 20 cm, which is approximately 11.8 inches x 7.8 inches.

To create this mailbox shape, I got inspired by a mailbox on a porch. So I took my dark blue sheet, and I rounded the edges.

Then, I took my light blue sheet, and I cut a round shape at the top of this sheet. I also cut the sides shorter, so the light blue sheet would be smaller than the dark blue sheet.

I can’t give you the exact same instructions as what I did because I worked intuitively from the reference I had. So, I encourage you to do the same with the picture above.

Just follow my reference, and I’m sure you’ll be able to create a similar felt mailbox (It’s really easy, you just need to cut round shapes in your felt sheets).

Step 2: Fill Your Felt Mailbox With Fake Flowers

Once I had my two felt shapes, I glued the light blue shape right on top of the dark blue shape. Only glue the bottom and sides so you can place your flowers inside this pocket.

Once your mailbox shape is done, you can put fiber fill in your pocket to add depth to your felt mailbox. Next, place your fake flowers inside your pocket.

I selected pink and white flowers to match with the lace I added when customizing my felt mailbox. But any spring flowers will look amazing.

Step 3: Customize Your Mailbox

I added a white lace ribbon bow to my pocket for a delicate and sensitive touch. Next, I glued floral lace on the bottom of my felt mailbox for a really feminine and lovely feel!

You can also place ribbons or pearls on your felt mailbox. Just make sure that it will fit with your porch decor.

Place this felt mailbox on your front door, on your porch table, or hang it on your porch walls! Make sure to place it somewhere on your porch where it won’t be in contact with rain.

Now, let’s discover the final result!

So, here’s how my Easter porch decor turned out:

Remember that to create your own Easter porch decor, you must:

  • Select cohesive colors: go for soft and pastel colors, such as pink, blue, yellow, and purple;
  • pick the right flowers: daffodils and tulips are emblematic for Easter;
  • and customize your DIY: lace will add a lovely and delicate touch to your Easter decor!
