For this DIY, you will need:

  • A rectangular planter;
  • moss;
  • a bird figurine;
  • a bird nest;
  • an Easter house;
  • felt carrots.

Where To Buy Materials For This DIY

Now, let’s realize our DIY, shall we?

Step 1: Select The Right Box And Color Palette

I suggest going for a rectangular planter. It’s deep enough to make a beautiful spring decoration. You will be able to hang it on your front door or on your porch.

It will create a very warm and welcoming atmosphere in your home. But you could do this DIY in any box that fits your design style.

Traditional spring colors are soft and pastel blue, pink, purple, yellow, and green. So I suggest using these colors in your DIY.

Step 2: Create Your Felt Carrots

Creating felt carrots is such a fun and relaxing activity! To do that, you will need felt sheets, fiber fill, a hot glue gun, and a pair of scissors.

Start by cutting a carrot shape on a paper sheet. Then, place your paper carrot shape on your felt sheet and cut the shape again.

I place my paper carrot with double-sided tape on the felt sheet so it doesn’t move while I cut it! Do it another time. You now have two felt carrot shapes.

Add some hot glue to the first carrot shape so you can stick the second carrot shape on it. Make sure you leave a hole so you can stuff your carrot with the fiber fill.

Once it’s done, glue the hole. You now have your felt carrot!

Step 3: Add Everything Together

Take your planter and fill it with moss. Then, place your bird figurine, bird nest, felt carrots, and Easter house on the moss.

I picked a LED Easter house to bring an enchanted and delicate feel to this DIY.

Now, let’s discover the final result!

So, here’s how my spring decor turned out:

Remember that to create your own spring front door DIY, you must:

  • Select a cohesive color palette: go for soft and pastel colors, such as pink, blue, yellow, and purple;
  • invest in Easter accessories: bird figurines and bird nests are emblematic of this season;
  • add some fresh plants: whether it is moss or spring flowers;
  • customize your tray according to your interior design style.

Stay tuned for more spring inspiration!
